Press release BELAC
With the instauration of BELAC, a transition period was foreseen during which the use of the BELTEST, BELCERT or OBE symbols was still permitted. BELAC wishes to remind you that this transition period has ended on 28/02/2007.
From the 1st of March 2007, only the BELAC symbol can still be used by the accredited bodies to refer to their accreditation. The documents produced by the accredited bodies before the end of the transition period (1st of March 2007) and which are referring to an accreditation OBE/BELTEST/BELCERT remain of course covered by this accreditation until their validity deadline. The certification bodies are under the obligation to inform their customers of their new accreditation number and of the existence of the new BELAC symbol, at the latest before the 1st of June 2007. From the moment that they are informed, the certified bodies are authorized to use the BELAC symbol. From the 1st of January 2008 onwards, the certified bodies are also under the obligation to make the transition to the new symbol along with the new accreditation number. On 26/10/2006 a mailing of the BELAC symbol has been done. However, we have noticed that this e-mail did not get through to a number of mailboxes because of its large size. Therefore, you can find the BELAC symbol in attachment. The details about its use are mentioned in the document BELAC 2-001 (available on the website : www.belac.fgov.be).
