The CE Marking

The CE marking ANPI is recognized as a Product Certification Body, Inspection Body and Test Laboratory conform the terms of Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEG Certification or laboratory testing quotation request.

CERTIFICATION RULES FOR PRODUCTS IN THE FIRE DOMAIN IN CONFORMITY WITH THE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCT DIRECTIVE The CE Marking Several European directives provide the legal framework in view of achieving the unique market of product within the European Union nevertheless without affecting or reducing therefore their actual existing security levels. Number of products, rather product families may no further be put onto the market if they don't comply with the requirements set by the concerned directives and harmonized standards. These products need therefore to bear a CE marking in order to be sold on the European market. ANPI is recognized as a Product Certification Body, Inspection Body and Test Laboratory conform the terms of Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEG and as Competent Body and Test Laboratory conform the terms of the EMC Directive (89/336/EEG), under NB 1134. What is CE Marking all about? The compulsory CE marking is a manufacturer declaration who is attesting that its product complies with essential requirements in terms of safety, health, environment and consumer's protection as defined by the harmonized standards. Beyond a transition date set by the Commission, the product must bear a CE marking in order to be authorized within the European market Several directives concern fire or intrusion preventing security products and equipments. Which European directives? Directive 89/106/EEG of the Council of 21st of December 1988 on the approximation of laws , regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States regarding construction products more particularly the equipments and fixed fire protection installations. Other European directives like the EMC Directive, Low Voltage (LVD) or equipment under pressure may also apply to safety equipments. You will find the harmonized standards and transition periods on the following site: ec.europa.eu CE marking and certification CE marking is not a certification. Certifications like ANPI, BOSEC, BENOR, INCERT, CERTALARM, S3, FINCERTIF...are taken on a volontarily base and whitness the quality of products and their confomity to additonnal technical requirements. While purchasing a product , verify the CE marking but ask also for a quality label like mentionned here above.
