LAST NEWS

Last news for the attention of all certified 2008.07.11 Smoke detectors are now compulsory in the Flemish area of Belgium Dear certified, Flanders (the Flemish area) imposes from now on smoke detectors in certain types of dwellings. This new legislation is certainly of interest to you. The Belgian Official Journal "Moniteur belge" of 13 June 2008 publishes the Flemisch decree of 9 May 2008 on the protection of dwellings through optical smoke detectors. According to this decree, each new dwelling and renovated building, for which a building permit is needed, must be equipped with smoke detectors. Those detectors are not of the ionic type and will be equipped with a 10 years lifespan battery. The detectors also have to be certified by a certification body accredited BELAC or by a European member of the MLA. BOSEC certification meets this requirement. According to the available budget, the Flemish Government will give smoke detectors to the local authorities in order to equip the dwellings put in location. The methods of attribution and installation of these detectors will be laid down later on. Text of the Flemish Decree 2008 05 09 Kind regards, Your certification team cert@anpi.be ****************************************************************************** 2007.12.18 Dear certified, In order to serve your interests, ANPI asbl takes part in different sectional organizations. One of these is the BUPC, whose objective is to come up for the common interests of the Belgian certification bodies and testing laboratories for construction products in the scope the voluntary conformity marks, the regulatory European CE marking and the Belgian accreditation of the bodies. We are pleased to inform you that the members of BUCP elected unanimously Mrs Michèle Vandendoren, in charge of the Certification division of ANPI, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Notified Bodies (CT-NB), in charge of all matters related to the national follow-up of the GNB-CPD of the Advisory Group of Notified Bodies for the Construction Products Directive (NB-CPD). We thank BUCP for the confidence it places in ANPI. Kind regards, Your certification team cert@anpi.be ****************************************************************************** 2007.12.11 Information to the BOSEC certified of TCC2 (Automatic detection) Concerns: Co-existence periods of EN 54-2:1997/A1:2006 - Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 2: Control and indicating equipment EN 54-4:1997/A1:2002 and EN 54-4:1997/A2:2006 - Fire detection and fire alarm systems - Part 4: Power supply equipment In our message of 5/12/2007, we informed you of the close follow-up by ANPI on the above-mentioned matter. We are glad to inform you that the dates of the periods of co-existence are now the same for the 3 addenda : 01/08/2009. The NANDO site is updated. Attention: the Official Journal of the European Union of 4/12/2007 mentions wrong dates (31/12/2007 and 31/08/2009 respectively for EN 54-2/A1 and EN 54-4/A1&A2). Do not take these dates into consideration. Your certification team cert@anpi.be ********************************************************************* 2007.12.03 Co-existence periods of EN 54-4/A1 and EN 54-4/A2 - Power supply equipment of fire detection and fire alarm systems Up to now, the official dates published in the Official Journal of the European Union for the periods of co-existence are: 31.12.2007 for the EN 54-4/A1 01.06.2008 for the EN 54-4/A2 This situation is to the detriment of the industry. Therefore, the Technical Committee TC 72 of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), in which ANPI participates, asked the European Commission to extend the period of co-existence to 01.08.2009 and to make it correspond to the assumed co-existence period of the EN 54-2/A1. We expect a decision of the European Commission by mid-December. ANPI keeps up closely with the development of that case and will inform you. Your certification team cert@anpi.be ********************************************************************* 2007.11.30 Important communication to the BOSEC certified Dear Certified, The recent integration of BOSEC asbl into ANPI asbl has been achieved with the aim of giving a new boost to the prevention against fire and intrusion. A mark is not only a guarantee of technical quality, but also a promotion tool. Communication is therefore essential in this case and is a priority for the ANPI team. Being certified, you will regularly receive information about your certification fields through the e-mail addresses that you communicate to our Certification Division (cert@anpi.be). Best regards, Alain Verhoyen General Manager www.anpi.be
