These Guidelines give the requirements for planning, installation, and maintenance of stationary fire extinguishing systems using non-liquefied inert gas when used for the protection of buildings and industrial manufacturing plants and as an extension or modification of existing systems. These guidelines specify the requirements the requirements for a selection of particular extinguishing gases, which are stored and discharged as gas, and include not only requirements for the extinguishing system itself and associated components, but also requirements for buildings and objects to be protected. These Guidelines are in accordance with the current state of the art.
