The aim of this installation inspection’s Technical Note NTN 168-I is to evaluate if the firefighting foam of an installation does meet the performance criteria requested by the firefighting installation according to Chapter 11 (foam systems) of NFPA 25:2026 and Chapter 11 of NBN EN 13565-2:2018+AC:2019+AC:2021.
It was separated from the original NTN 168 to distinguish, as required by the EN 17020 and EN 17025 standards, the roles of the Laboratory and the Inspection Services. For this purpose, the earlier (2nd version 2015) of the NTN 168 is split in 2 Technical Notes:
- NTN 168-L for Laboratory tests of samples
- NTN 168-I for Inspection of installations
