ANPI laboratories developed their skills in electrical safety at a time when the European standard EN 54-4 still required tests on power supplies of fire detection systems. This experience helped us to obtain notification under the low-voltage European directive (LVD).
These requirements have now disappeared from EN 54 standards, and the LVD notification is no longer expected under the current directive.
However, this competence has been retained by requirements expected under the EN 14604 standard for standalone smoke detectors, the requirements for railway equipment and the tests conducted upon request by manufacturers who are assembling their technical file in order to obtain CE marking.
