This Technical Note forms part of the benchmark standards for certification in accordance with the rules of the ANPI/BOSEC mark.
It lays down the scope, the requirements, the necessary test configurations and the tests to be conducted.
The European Standard EN 17446 defined the requirements, the necessary test configurations and the tests to be conducted for fire extinguishing systems in commercial kitchens. This version of the standard includes fire performance test for deep fat fryers.
Hence, this standard did not define requirements for automatic triggering system. The present Technical Note specifies also requirements and fire performance test for automatic triggering system.
The present document is part of the NTN 185 series related to these automatic triggering systems and which is made of:
- NTN 185-L - Laboratory tests - Complementary requirements to EN 17446
- NTN 185-C - Certification scheme
This document is also indirectly related to the NTN 192-C which defines the certification scheme for certification according to the EN 17446, since there is no standard certification scheme to apply for certification.
