In 2018 the National Crisis Centre coordinated the identification and analysis of risks in Belgium for the period 2018-2023. The objective of this Belgian National Risk Assessment 2018-2023 is to identify and assess, in a structured and scientifically correct way, the major risks to which Belgium may be exposed.
Different scenarios that could directly affect Belgium over the next five years are assessed by experts in terms of probability and impact.
The assessed scenarios cover four thematic categories: natural events, techno-economic events, health events and man-made (events linked to intentional and malicious human action).
