For the first time, under the joint initiative of AGORIA and ALIA Security, security companies and burglary prevention advisors are joining forces to develop a national protection strategy. This event is specifically designed for certified installers, prevention advisors, and engineering firms eager to anticipate tomorrow's challenges.

The Burglary Prevention Seminar 2026 will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Brabanthal in Leuven.

Joining forces: AGORIA and ALIA Security

The partnership between AGORIA and ALIA Security marks a commitment to further professionalize the sector. By bringing together experts from these two pillars, the seminar offers a 360-degree view of current issues, from legislation to cutting-edge technology.

Why attend the burglary prevention seminar 2026?

The goal is clear: to foster knowledge exchange between those who design security policies (advisors) and those who implement them in the field (installers).

An exceptional program: experts and roundtables

The seminar is structured to offer a morning of strategic debates (roundtables and speeches) and an afternoon of technical specialization (workshops).

Starting at 9:15 AM, a roundtable moderated by journalist Faroek Özgünes (VTM) will set the stage. The guest panel reflects the diversity of expertise required:

  • Koen Loete, Mayor and President of the Council of Mayors, will provide the political and local vision.
  • Amandine Vanscheeuwijck, criminologist at Ghent University, will analyze current criminal behaviors.
  • Commissioner Wim Rijsbrack, a cybercrime expert, will address the convergence of physical and digital security.
  • Representatives from ALIA Security (Olivier Snauwaert) and AGORIA (Pieter De Wilder) will share the field realities for installers.

Subsequent sessions will explore key themes such as local community security (presented by Veerle Van Crombrugge of FPS Interior) and the real impact of AI in our sector.

The afternoon offers separate tracks in French and Dutch, allowing for deep dives into crucial technical subjects without language barriers.

Focus on french-language workshops (first floor)

For French-speaking advisors and installers, the program is particularly comprehensive:

  • Evolution of windows and doors: Mélanie Lambotte (ICOMET) will detail the latest mechanical resistance standards.
  • CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design): Eric Valerio, an expert from FPS Interior, will explain how environmental design can naturally deter malicious acts.
  • Burglar modus operandi: Luc Storms (Police DPA) will share a valuable analysis of current break-in techniques observed in the field.
  • Best practice rules: Thierry De Leeuw (ANPI) will review the rigorous standards for alarm and camera system installations, ensuring optimal efficiency and legal compliance. Don’t miss this presentation at 3:20 PM.

Advancements presented in dutch (main hall)

Bilingual or Dutch-speaking professionals can explore topics such as the risks of DIY (Do It Yourself) systems, the added value of Approved Monitoring Centers (ARC), or the BIGDATPOL project. The latter, presented by experts from Ghent University, uses data to predict burglaries by location and time.

Why participate as a security company or advisor?

Networking is the engine of our industry. The networking lunch (12:00 PM – 1:30 PM) is a unique opportunity to forge strategic partnerships.

  • Knowledge update: The sector is evolving faster than ever. This seminar is your essential annual "refresh."
  • Certification and quality: Learning best practices from bodies like ANPI strengthens your credibility with clients.
  • Anticipation: By understanding future operating methods and prediction tools (AI, Big Data), you stay one step ahead of crime.
