The Belgian Official Gazette has just published the approval order for the NBN S 21-204-2 standard.
This text applies to new school buildings and extensions to existing school buildings for which planning permission has been requested from the first day of the third month following the publication of this standard in the Moniteur belge.
The standard determines the minimum conditions to be met by the design, construction, equipment and fitting-out of new school buildings and extensions to existing school buildings in order to
a) prevent the origin, development and spread of a fire ;
b) ensure the safety of persons;
c) facilitate the intervention of the emergency services (fire brigade) in a preventive manner.
