On 24th January 2018, the bill concerning the use of surveillance cameras was on the agenda of the Interior Committee in the Chamber.

The objectives of the bill are to regulate the use of surveillance cameras by the police, to update the regulations on the use of surveillance cameras and to bring them into line with the new European regulations. In addition, the bill also provides for the possibility for the intelligence and security services to have access to the images of cameras used by the police in the course of their duties. This bill has been drafted in an attempt to ensure as many guarantees as possible for the privacy of citizens, while maintaining a balance with the realities and practical needs of the field.
